Best site for buying truck parts

Hey all, haven't been here in a while...lol

Just wondering you what the best website is for ordering parts for my 94 F-150 Flareside. I need to buy a new right headlight assembly and i think a fuel filter. BTW, where is the fuel filter located on the truck? i have 2 tanks so is there 2 fuel filters or do the 2 tanks share 1 filter?

Thank You

I think it's a tossup between lmc trucks and NPD. National parts depot has more stuff, and they recently got into the truck market. Basically it's my (recent) experience that if they don't have it you've got to go to the junkyards to find it. Lmc has almost the same amount of stuff, and they're usually a bit cheaper. I'd also try JC Whitney. All three give you a free catalog, I know whitney has a website, but I'm not sure on the other two.

It depends on what kind of parts you need. A light assembly is probably best from a junkyard. Prices on new stuff like that is scary. For maintenance items, I normally support my local auto parts store. Napa carries good stuff, try and stay away from Kragen/Autozone. Their stuff is pretty cheap. Pep Boys is OK for some stuff.

If you want to go online, rockauto.com seems to have a good selection of parts.

From: Cedar Rapids Iowa area,
My 90 with 2 tanks had one as does my 96 with 2 tanks. Crawl down under the drivers side box about a foot or so back and on the frame will be a big round filter, about as big around as a beer can and about 4-5in long

As for where to find parts, JeffsBroncoGraveyard has some pretty cool stuff and they seem to be fair prioced on most things. If your careful, ebay can also be a good source for parts to. Locallly, i have better luck at autozone than I do with NAPA. The people that work at the auto zone near me know much more about parts than they do at the local NAPA. Friendly service is important to me and the guys at napa can sometimes be downright arrogant. Im sure its not the same everywhere, but thats the way it is im my area. another internet source is Jegs, they dont have the biggest selection of truck parts , but not to bad. I also like lmc and jc whitney.
just my 2 cents

Funny - the Autozone guys where I live are ignorant and rude. The Napa guys all know me, and one of them even drove out to my house and dropped off a part when I needed it. I would have had to have put my truck back together and drive it to the store to get the part I needed if he hadn't done that for me.

And the Kragen guy insists that Fram filters are the greatest thing in the world. He thinks I'm nuts for using Motorcraft filters on my truck.

The fuel filter requires a special removal tool, don't forget to get it if you haven't already. The filter will also be tough to disconnect from the lines, the seals and couplings get stuck after a few years and require a little extra to pull apart.

personally i feel that the local carquest has the most knoledgeable people, however there hours kinda suck. evryone that works there is full time and they're open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm here. just my opinion.

I like advanced locally, and I'm with andy on the zone. I haven't been in one that didn't suck on selection of parts, friendly staff, knowledgeble staff, or any kind of service. Plus all their commercials are terrible. Napa is good to me, but sometimes they seem a bit overpriced. The lmc, Jc Whitney, and NPD guys have pretty good prices, and excelent selection, but you gotta wait on the shipping.
