Cleaning the Valley

Yesterday I climbed up on my 4x4 2002 Excursion's front bumper. It's not lifted so I put a foot on a toe hook and then got on top of the bumper. From there I put my left knee on the front frame next to the radiator and bent my body down resting my arms on sold engine parts. From there I got to get a real good look at what's behind the cosmetic cover. I saw the fuel filter and the yellow lever to drain the water. And then saw the whole valley. It's really greasy looking and pretty big. Now it's bugging me because the rest of my engine is spotless.
So I'm seeking advice on how to best wash the valley of all the oily scum.

Leo

I got in there with brake cleaner when the engine was cold from sitting all night. I could eat of my valley if I wanted too!

Some Gunk and a hot water pressure rinse works great.
