Helper springs

I would like to add helper springs to my truck currently the spring pack is 2-1/2 inches wide. The helper spring pack that I have is 3 inches wide, if I get longer U bolts can I use those helper springs or am I better off getting helper springs that are 2-1/2" wide? I am putting this on my ' 64 F350 4x4 dually.

i think you would be better off geting 2 1/2" helpers because of your springs being a 1/2" smaller causing slop possiably. i'd recommend to get the airbag helpers. they dont change the quality of the ride at all

I'm running 2 1/2" helper packs (5 leafs) on my 3" springs. Both springs and helpers were new when I put them on and they've been riding great. No slop, twist etc As long as the U bolts are tight, and the top plate isn't worn you should be alright

Not what you are looking for but I helped a guy move his trailer (14x70 with tip out). He placed 8x8's as "Spring Helpers". Amazing but the truck moved it. Of course the tip out left a few scars in the road. Funny what people will do to save a professional moving bill.

It probably won't work because your top plate is only 2 1/2" wide, so it won't clear the overloads. Even if you went with a wider plate do you have room on the axle to space out the u bolts to 3"? I'd be a little leary of the bolts shifting a bit being wide on biggest part of the span

I do have the room on the axle, but I have the same feeling that you have with the U bolts shifting. Thanks for your help.

Wink Coil Helpers

Try the coil helpers from advance. The heavy duty kit is $24.95. The coils u-bolt to the top of the axle and the frame rupper stop rests in the center of the coil. They worked for our Suburban (echh) and f100
