I recently saw municipal government F150s doing road work at night, and the tail lights were blinking at high speed, and the backup lights were flashing like strobe lights on a police car.
Does anyone know if it is legal to install these on a truck for general purpose night stopping on the side of the road? They are much easier to see in rain and fog.
Is there a kit, and is it easy to install?
Are there special bulbs?
Will the normal white backup lights still work, or do you lose this feature?
The strobing lights in 99% of conditions is illegal. You can get an equipment violation and they do look for that type of stuff. As far as the bulbs and equipment, sometimes they use stock, sometimes it is a special bulb. You can usually buy strobe packs for any type of bulb. Just watch it though, I got pulled over with strobes and they do not appreciate it.
