Which is the correct splash pan?

I have these two splash pans and both of them are different.

What years does each one go to or are they interchangeable?

Thanks, Ilya

I've seen those and several more. The rusty one is like the one I'm using on my 50 F-1.

Barry, where do these mount? Were they an option? or aftermarket? or is it just another piece that got tossed from my truck?!?!

It's a pain to work on the underside of the engine with it on. It bolts to the frame rails under the radiator, tilting backwards. THere's some 1/4 inch holes in each side of the frame. THere were two styles or sizes, one for the V8 ( pictured) and a narrow one for the 6 cyl. I've parted a few trucks and some of these were gone. Yes, someone probably tossed it a long time ago.

Thanks, I've never even seen one. I wonder if the help with airflow at all? I assume that hole is for the draft tube?

Are you selling either of these, Panelman?

I don't know yet.

I assume that both of these are for the flathead engines. I bought both to use on my Panels. However, if both are for flatheads, then I won't have any use for them, because my '52 will receive an OHV 6 cylinder and my '51 will get a 350 SBC.

Barry, are the pans for the flathead engines only?

Thanks, Ilya

I may be interested in the one for the 52. I know that they are probably more trouble than they are worth but thats the way Henry made it.

If it's not for the OHV and only for the flathead, then I won't have any use for it.

This is what I am trying to find out.

The painted one on the left is like the one from my '52 F1, 239 flathead V8. The hole looks odd in the photo, mine is a perfect circle. Has that one been modified? I think that the panel would keep water/mud from splashing into the front of the motor from the front wheels. ...Terry

My guess is that the downtube didn't fit properly into the whole, so it was modified to fit.

The panel might help with the draft tube operation. It would at least keep the air flowing from the fan and rad from interferring with the air flow pass the bottom end of the draft tube. ...Terry

The 52 with a OHV had a narrow one that went across inn the same manner. It was about 4-6 inches wide and the width of the frame. It was 3-4 inches deep. Kinda like a wind deflector to me. I've only parted one 52 and it had this one on it. There's at least 3 different ones for the flatty that I've seen. You show 2 of them and I've had a third one without the hole. All came off of V8's.
