Fuse #45

My 2002 F250 7.3 PSD is blowing the #45 fuse every once in a while. It will blow factory installed 10 amp and a 15 amp. When this Happens the dash goes dead and you can't accel the engine. If you replace the fuse it will last for a couple of days. It seems to happen during the start. Could this be part of the electric adjustable pedal recall? Or a short somewhere else?

in your manual, what does it list that fuse controls?

Did you check the wiring in the steering column. That seems to be what fixed AutoDoc's. His post is nearly identical to yours. Popping fuses like that almost always means a short somewhere.

I fixed it

I opened up the column and found the wires from the o/d button on the shift lever chaffed and shorted out on the column. I put heat shrink on the wires and reposssioned them.
