My cousin has got a 99 f250 7.3, his truck keeps blowing 30 amp fuses and when it does the whole truck shuts down. I think its fuse number 30 its the farthest to the right and the very bottom 30 amp fuse. Its for the pcm and some other things. The place where you slide it in is kind of worn out almost and when you puch down on the fuse to get a good connection it will start but as soon as you start to crank and move the fuse a little bit it will blow and shut off. Has anybody ever had this happen tp them before. Any help would be appreciated because the truck is sitting on the side of the road and has gone through about 20 fuses. Thanks.
SO... I'm willing to bet it's your fuel bowl heater that has shorted out. Try unhooking the connector on back of the fuel filter housing, below the yellow drain valve. Then replace the fuse again. That should get you back on the road. You can later inspect the heater element by removing the filter and looking at the bottom of the bowl.
