New to the site, it sure looks awesome. Hopefully someone can figure out this problem. Truck is a 1999 F350 4x4 7.3 6 speed manual crewcab longbed. Problem is I was driving down the road yesterday and the speedometer needle started bouncing back and forth, the abs light came on, and now the speedometer needle is on 0. Any ideas what caused it? Thanks ccc.
My 1999 F250 4x4 7.3 did the same thing about six months ago. It was the speed sensor mounted on top of the rear end, except I'm not talented enough to do it myself and had to take it to the dealer. Can't remember the exact price, but it was around $250.
I had researched the problem here first. I called two different dealers and told them it was the speed sensor. Both gave me about the same estimate. That Ford Quality Care ain't cheap.
