abs & speedometer problem

i was driving home and my abs light came on then i noticed that my speedometer needle would drop and then got back up to the speed i was at. then would keep doing that wonder if anyone might now what is up with it. i have a 99 F-250 with V10

My first thought would be the vss but I am sure someone will be along shortly that might know more.

i would start with the vss sensor on the rear pumpkin.
it's a easy fix. Start there the sensor is sometimes called the abs speed sensor.

alright thanks i was kinda thinking it was probably that again i had replace it a few months ago. but ill give that a try again since its cheap fix

also check your gem.
I had a water leak that caused my gem to go bad and it would cause the same problem. the GEM is located right behind the fuse panel inside the truck.

so went to start it up and drove it a few miles this morning and the abs light didnt come on at all and speedometer works fine. hopefully was just a little glitch or something but thinking of still replacing the vss. but did find out my i have a coolent leak some were antifreeze was down. think i had a small leak for while cause it was down before.
