What size grade 8 bolts?
I have that familiar popping/creaking sound coming from my motor cross member mounting rivets. I have read in old postings that the rivets can be replaced by grade 8 bolts. What size (diameter) is correct? This is my only vehicle so I can't drill out the rivets and then drive to the store to buy the bolts. Thanks

You probably saw one of my responses. I've replaced rivets with 7/16"-20 x 1" You could also use 1/2"-20. Use grade 8 for strength (bolts, washers & nuts). Use the largest diameter you can fit, but over 1/2" is overkill.
