BLUE CHEER- the of the first acid rock bands from the mid to early sixties--out of San Francisco. They also held the record for being the loudest band. Something like 12 marshall double stacks amps.

Nice. The current record (and if memory serves, final) holder of that title is Manowar....who I am seeing in June . I think Guiness closed that particular record to further competition due to health concerns. It sure is nice to see we have many metal heads in the FTE ranks.

I haven't checked for a few years but last I remember, the band MANOWAR held the record for being the loudest band and then they broke their record a few years later. Stick 'em up
Not to say that Blue Cheer didn't hold that record at one time though.

I'm born in 1980 and my favorite bands are Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple (70's), Rainbow (w/Dio), Ozzy Osbourne, UFO, Diamond Head, Saxon, Sound Barrier, Axe, Motley Crue and (early) Aerosmith.

He (Mark Free) became Marcy Free. I have actually heard a few of their tunes from when they were still a band and though they were allright. That band was kind of a supergroup from what I have read. I think it had Carmine Appice on drums, Marq Torien (who later went on to front BulletBoys) may have sang for them at one time. Johnny Rod (W.A.S.P. 's bassist from the 85/86 Inside The Electric Circus, Live... In The Raw and possibly a few more albums) and there may have been a few others that had some fame. Probably to many ego's in the band at once though.
Any Wasp fans?
