Thats awesome, someone 20 Yrs old loves hair bands. I'm 27 and from the 80's Metallica (#1) Tesla, Poison, Crue, to name a few. It's been long enough I've forgotten (other than Metallica, I know every work from every song from every CD/Album...I mean EVERY!!). I'll still listen to'em any day though. In the 90's...Korn, Pantera and alot more. Nowadays, I listen to country pretty much exclusively. I still love the Metal. Oh, I forgot Rush and Zepplin. Couldn't forget them ...they're in my top 3!

Back in time when Black Sabbath was everybodys favorite, there was a band called Bloodrock. As far as I know, they only did 1 self titled album.
30 years later, I still sing one of the lines from the song "DOA".......
"I remember, we were flying low and hit something in the air."
A little off topic, but does anybody remember Savoy Brown ?
AL.

I'm not real familiar with savatage, but I know that at least one former guitarist is now in Trans Siberian Orchestra. A girlfriend (country fan) called it "Angry Christmas" I thought it was a pretty good show.
Dave Mustain, the current lead guitar for Metallica, Name? and one other pretty famous player that I can't remember right now were all trained by Joe Satriani at the same time. Which I find interesting, Joe is a definate hard rock kinda thing, but all his students define metal.

I started off as an metal guy in the early 80's , drifted to alternative and now, 20 years later, I love cheesey hair bands....bands that I used set their albums on fire in public. Here's a few hair band classics
Cinderella
Britney Fox
Kix
Jackyl
Crue
Poison
Faster *****cat
Y&T
Winger
Warrant
Slaughter
Ratt
Scorpions
My all time fav is still AC/DC even though they're not a hair band

From reading the first 10 posts of this thread, I'd never think Hatebreed would come up, that's kind of cool I'm all about the hardcore scene (Shai Hulud, Between the Burried an Me, Converge, One King Down, etc)
I'm also all about the Death Metal (Nile, Cannibal Corpse, etc).

Ac/DC has a whole bunch of MY favourite songs.
Riff/Raff
It's a long way to the top (bagpipes is kewl!)
Sin city
The Jack
Ride on
Big *****
Squealer
Dirty deeds
Whole lotta rosie
Bon Scott songs all, but I like Brian Johnson too.
Hair bands was OK, my favourite was DLR Van Halen
I always appreciate a fantastic guitar player, no matter what genre
Not a fan at all of thrash metal tho.
I kind of consider them talentless *****.

I've heard/seen Loudness before on Much Music, Canada's sad excuse for MTV
Also Steve Vai is one fantastic player.
There's also Buckethead, who played with the last incarnation of G'nR

He wails.
In blues, there's always the fantastic Steve Ray Vaughn,
and a Canadian guy named http://www.davidwilcoxrocks.com/
not to be confused with the folk-singer from the States. And, before he got religion, Jeff Healy could really crank.
