Yup, and, most places will have 'em on the shelf. I kinda like that, just in case I DO ever have a problem, I know average joes greasy parts will have it.
I have thought and researched out different systems, Jacobs is outstanding , but a kit is over 300.00, and msd box, coil and stock dura-dizzy is about a third less.

Call me prejudiced, but I wont run a DUI, I dont want a chebby cap setup blocking the view of my FE!!

The DUI setup blocks a lot less view than the MSD cluster-system.

Yeah thats true most places do have them there, ready to rock.
I think i liek the idea of the dui because of its simplicity, less to track down if there is a problem, and just cleaner, less cluster.
But i mean it all depends on what a guy wants, I bet i will one day run the msd setup to compare with other setups.
Im no chebby fan myself, but its distinctively ford for sure.

The OEM style Duraspark system when wired up to use the blue grommet part is hard to beat. It is durable and reliable as long as the Motorcraft module is used. Many of the aftermarket replacement units fail easily which adds to a bad reputation that is undeserved. Mount the Duraspark-II module on the fender with 1/4" stand offs to provide cooling to the bottom of the module and the Motorcraft units last forever. Even if they do fail the DS-II system parts can be tested at any good parts store and replacements are "off the shelf".

Always use a distributor with vacuum advance on a street driven vehicle. Mechanical advance only setups are for race applications only.
