The host has no idea how bad the hog problem is in Texas. I get paid $8 for every hog and javeilina I kill. Ive also had my fair share of having the tables turned on and I become the hunted. The hog shot by the Texan through the shoulder shows how tought the hogs are, that shot went through the boars lungs and probably shattered a shoulder.
They are bad in Georgia to. They root up our pastures and eat up our deer food plots and feed. The link is some little piggys I shot at one food plot last deer season. These are small ones 100 to 165 on the scales. There were a dozen or more that got away. Thats my psd superduty in the back ground. I dont know if I believe it but if it is true that is alot of pork chops and bacon
More like a lotta sausage, most of the time it would be so old and tough thats all that would be left. Granted he wasn't wild, but there was an old boar that was sold through the sale barn a while back that weighed over 900lbs, his head was the size of a compact car tire.
So what did the show say about the "proof"? I don't get any TV right now unless it's on VHS cassette, so I'm out of the loop, but curious. I've seen a lot of wild hogs in Texas, and most aren't nearly that big, but it is certainly possible. I'd hate to run into that sucker in the woods! The little ones can cause a bad enough wreck if you're horseback...I've had dead broke ranch horses go flat wall-eyed and snorty at the sight of a hog going by.
The hog was real, but not 12 ft nor 1000lbs. The final measuremants were 7' 6" and a little over 800lbs. Had masive tusk that did a full circle. It was a wild pig that had domestic sow in it from either a mother or grandmother. Boar was about 7 yrs old so it was fairly young.
