On the 10.1:1 compression, they say that, but I dont think they figure in the head gasket. The L2291's are supposed to have 10:1 compression. They dont. When you put a Fel-pro .041" thick head gasket on there, it's more like 9.5:1. Those you found would probably be fine. What are they, Clevite?
Yeah, Clevite. Also, I looked under 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 and found this one, CEP 2241713, which has an advertised 10:1 for $10 less. Keeping in mind that I seriously doubt I'll ever have the factors that would give me 10:1 with that piston, this might be the one. Is cast aluminum a problem?
1. You EVER plan to run nitrous.
2. You EVER plan to run forced induction.
3. You EVER let it ping.
Pinging is not good for pistons, cast in particular. If you hear any, be sure to get it taken care of right away. Forged is much more forgiving in this area.
