Well it was a nice day out on sunday so Pulled this out from back of Garage.

Furture Mods', Rally sport Steering Wheel with Beverage Holder
in the Pic that also has the 4-wheeler and blade at the top you can see a old strip down 3 wheeled golf cousre mower frame that is what the seat was on.
an Old physic's teacher of mine accquired 4 of these I think he wanted the hydraulic pumps and cylinder from the mower's. Any way was talking to me about his computer problems "gotta love virus'es and Spyware" so for a little computer expertise help I got one of the frames and seat after he had taken off all the parts he wanted. just a little Horse Trading as he called it. I have no idea of the mower brand or anything I just got the frame and seat. I wanna make a Test run Engine Stand out of the frame this summer.
More features on the mower custom Steering set up turns left on a dime but to turn right takes half a mile.
ya since I did this On Sunday the temp was 60, the High every day has been 35 or less and today got 3" of snow give or take. Glad the blade is still on my 4 wheeler I have to go out and Play/Plow the driveway when I get home.
he doesnt have enough horsepower to need wheelie bars.... yet .
i used to pop wheelies with my 1989 18hp craftsman, it lifted the front end about a foot even with a solid cast iron engine.
Haha we have an old briggs and stratton twin cylinder 12 horse that will pull small wheelies in, if I remember right, 3rd gear, on the road. Didn't do it to often because the front end came crashing down real hard but it sure was fun.
Do you have a huge pully on the crank and a little one on the tranny so you can go 40mph?!?! Then you wouldn't have to pop wheelies to make the neighbors stare at you akwardly.
No here is what to do. Get a new 25 or 30hp briggs V-twin. Put a 5 inch pulley on the motor and a 6 inch pulley on the trans. Change the oil in the trans to a high heat capable oil, a good synthetic could be used. Straight pipe the motor (sounds like a harley I swear.) Then run it up and down the road JUST to annoy the neighbors.
Here is the link to the pics. My dad and his brothers get involved in the lawnmower races every year for about 5+ years now. Only restriction is the machine has to be able to mow lawns and the deck must be removable.
Looks like ya'll know someting about lawnmowers so I'll ask a question.
We got a Murray with a 18HP Briggs &Stratton engine with automatic transmission (hydrostatic). The problem is, when you start it, and then let go of the parking brake, "something" makes a loud noise. Kinda like someting is grinding with something else. If you push the park brake back in, the noise goes away, but of course you cant drive it while holding the brake in.

Sounds like it might be the idler (or intermediate) pulley bearings have gone 'South'.
That's the first place I'd check.
Another is the rear 'transaxle' itself. It is a single-speed unit (most likely) and have been known to go bad after a few years.
I have one that I gotta replace in the garage right now. The axle bearing on the right side went bad. Incessant squeaking.
Man,
I wish I had a nice ride on lawn mower. Ive been looking for a used one all over here but nothing haha oh well Ill keep lookin. Great pics by all.

It's the brakes hanging up. There is a spring to help the return, and it's too tight. Pull the whole thing apart (brake rod) and GREASE the snot (no pun intended)out of the shaft around where it goes through the tab that applies the brakes. We have this same problem with out 1 year old hydrostat craftsman.
