You mean the pressure mod or does the flow mod do it too? I figured the extra pressure would do it but hydro assist doesn't need extra pressure, just plenty of flow.
The ported hig pressure valve would lower, not raise, the pressure if anything. Think about it like this - theres a water pump. It pumps 100 gpm. If you put it through a 1/16" hole or fitting, the pressure will be extremely high and slow down flow. If you allow the pump to push the water through a 1" hole then it will lower pressure and increase flow. The steering mods are obviously less dramatic, maintaining similar pressure levels and allowing slightly more fluid flow.
The only reason that this mod would increase temps is because all the fluid is spending less time going through the cooler and making its way through the pump more times per minute. It seems like the reduced backpressure would compensate for this...but thats all speculation and could just be a bunch o' Tom Foolery...
How big are those tranny coolers your talking about Ho?
i am just running one that is about 12x8, nothing huge....it seems to have no trouble keepin it cool
one buddy of mine with hydro assist on a yota with a sag pump with flow mods has trouble keepin her cool and has burnt up one pump running in the summer at tellico
