Yes the factory fill is claimed to go 100,000 miles... and its due to using distilled water. If you add water or refill the system with plain water, then they say 50,000 miles.
Personally, I would change it out at 50,000 or before and get out any contaminants that are left in there from production. There are aftermarket coolant filters available and International has a water pump with a filter built in for their trucks with this same motor in it.
The tranny service is on or before 30,000 miles. Personally, I had the dealer flush mine and change the spin-on filter (up by the radiator) at 25,000 miles. Make sure only Mercon SP fluid is used (have heard dealers screwing it up). The filter in the pan only needs to be serviced if the tranny is taken aaprt and is a screen.
Since I replied above, I sure hope we are talking about a 6.0L PSD motor. How come you posted in the Excursion forum and not the 6.0L (nothing wrong I supposed), but I sure hiope since we are talking gold coolant, it's a 6.0L motor? If so, then my advise still stands, if not, I do not know since I only have a 2003 6.0L PSD Excursion.
