no turn signals

I have a 1986 F150 4X4 with a 302 and4 an automatic.The problem I am having is I dont have any turn signals or brake lights.The headlights and taillights work.Any ideas what could be the problem.Thanks in advance for any input.

First check the fuses. Read through the brake light tech artcle - link at top right of page. The article has steps to test/repair brake lights and blinkers on a '70s pickup. The wire colors will be different, but the parts and testing will be the same for your '86.

The turnsignals don't even come on solid without blinking? If you find you have voltage at the brakelight switch on the pedal, and you have voltage on this same wire up at the turnsignal switch in the column, then I would lean toward the turnsignal switch being bad.
