I am looking at a Bronco that is between the years of 69-73 not sure yet, but it does have some cancer. I have to replace the tailgate and left front fender and also do some welding here and there. Oh of course a paint job. They are asking 1000 bucks for it, it runs and drives 302, 3 on the tree, and a 4inch lift installed. Interior is ok but could use a facelift. What do you guys think, offer them 750 for it? I have seen these things in good shape go for 25 grand so I think I could come out alright.
Check the inner fenders, kick panels, floor boards, and door posts carefully for rust. Replacing panels and repairing rust can turn into a time consuming and expensive job. For $750, I don't think you would lose if you were looking for a solid start to a trail rig if it is a 71 1/2 or later with the 44 front end. You could make your money back if you were to part it out. But those $1000 good deals have a way of costing you the same down the road. Whenever you go to sell, you always seem to get a lot less than what it cost to build.
I am not sure exactly what year it is. Ir looks like a Dana 35 but it could be a 44. It has coil sping front end. The floor boards are in good shape. Most of the rust is on the exterior.
I still think it's a deal. Certainly offer the least you can, but even at $1000 it's still a deal. I paid $2k for mine with little "visible" rust and all stock. The rust was in the body lines below the trim and behind the park lights.
If you wheel it and you have the D30, first thing is get a D44, put on discs an swap it in!!
