lol, I'll keep that in mind next time. didnt want to come off as looking for a fight, but I guess it did, I'll watch wat I say. I love the 7.3, A lot of people love the 6.0L, I personally dont. I'm at no position to say anything about it though, since I've never owned one. lol, this thread kinda side-tracked because of me, so I'll try and get 'er back on track. Do any of you have experience with straight-pipe on these trucks? I think id really sound different.

do i smell a insurgent from the diesel group in here. carefull nick we all have owned psd's here and just have a lot of fun with our v10's. a true fact is one of us lives near your neck of north america

yes there is some one in here with a straight piped one and i'm sure he will pop in sooner or latter. hope you can take a ribbing in fun. that we do have a lot of and mean no harm.

Nick I am a 7.3 lover and currwently part own two 6.0L..they are OK but not all that most of the owners up in 6.0Land say.. I love my V10s
There is a fellow in town with a 'roided 2 valve V10 straight piped... I think it is obnoxious... but to each his own

No problem, I've got a great sense of humor. it's hard sumtimes when I dont know anybody on this forum, and cant tell if ur being humorous or not. The internet doesnt allow for the best conversation. I hope he does, I bet thatd sound pretty mean.

haha, nice try, lol. That's one hell of a truck tho for sure. I never got how people thought the diesel was too loud for driver. I get it's just preference, but mine didnt make anymore noise then a gasser before I got the exhaust. I guess it's for you "retired military" guys

you can hang around as far as i'm concerned man. your fitting in and we will convert you. i'll just keep old red around and have fun with that 302 on roids and nox. now what did i do with that set of 455 gears for it.

...convert me... lol. What yr 302? that sounds like a really fun toy to have. I'd like to get my hands on a 390, those things are such great motors.

I have a straight pipe on my '00 250. I first had a set of duals with the Raven big block muffler, way too quiet. Then i bought a jba cat back witha straight through muffler, still too quiet. Now ive been just running nothing behind the cat for about 4 months and its finally about right. At 70-75 i can hear the engine but not loud at all.
I think what would sound real nice, and what im ganna do, is redo it all with a set of heders, a high flow cat and all new pipes exiting in front of the pass. side rear tire, no muffler.

I think ive asked this before but got no answer so ill try again...
My truck used to sound like all the other v10's ive heard. I thought it was similar to an indy car or like a high piched howl. At 100,000 miles had a pulg blowout and had a new head put on. When they pulled it around at the dealer i didnt think it was my truck because it sounded completely different. Now it sounds more like the dodge v10, much lower pitch in my opnion. Anybody have any idea why? I like it better now with the straight pipe. Let my dad borrow it the other day, and can finally hear it comming now.
