I get 12.5 EVERYWHERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just drove 500 miles, 3/4 of it on the interstate, and only got no better than 14 mpg. Any where around town or on the highway I get 12.5 evertime and only have 8500 miles on it. I was wondering what was up with that until I read the fine print on the sticker. The sticker say's I should get anywhere from 11 to 14 depending on driving conditions. My freinds 250 gets 11 and he's got a V-10.
Mines 2004 F-150 FX4 with 35.7 gallon gas tank.

Just finished my second tank of 87 in my 05 Screw Lariat. Got 12.1 on the first tank, 13.5 on this one (same driving conditions). As the engine breaks in, it appears to get better.

I just picked up my 05 Lariet Screw 4x4 and drove it home 250 miles (well worth the deal I got on it!) The truck had 19 miles on it when I got it, tonight it has just under 300. The little dash MPG computer was at 4.0mpg when I got in it, and climbed steadily up to 12.0mpg on the drive home (75mph cruise) but never got above 12.0.... hopefully it will get better!!!? Or is 12.0 pretty standard for the Screw 4x4?

was averaging 15.6 in my 04 screw lariat with the 5.4 and 373 ls took it to the dealer told them that it had throttle lag when i stepped on the gas and that the mileage stank they reflashed the computer with the latest program and on the way to work it got up to 18.4 on the way home running 70 mph it got up to 20.4 only mods have been si/do 40 series flowmaster and k&n airfilter driving habits have been a factor but hasn't dropped below 16.5 yet and when i drive like i got some sense it gets higher hopefully it stays up with gas a 2$ a gallon will let u know how it does with the next fill up. apr 04 build date

I wish I could get some of these high numbers also. My FX4 Sc gets around 11.5-12 in normal driving around town, babying the throttle. I took it on a 200 mile trip one way and it got 13.1, mostly highway miles at 75. Now hook up the trailer or put it in 4 wheel, and I don't even care to figure it out, but it's bad. I have 6300 miles on it sicne 8/04 and only drive it on weekends, but 12 mpg sucks.

My XLT 4X4 regular cab with 5.4 & 3.73 gears gets almost exactly the 14/18 as was listed on the window sticker. I sometimes can get 15/19 if I really baby it. It has done it since it had 300 miles on it and it now has about 5,000.

Ferguson65,

Around town my HD SCAB only get around 11-12 mpg, but on the highway I get around 14-16. Really depends on how fast you travel. If you want to see better mileage try a trip at 65 or even 60 and I guarantee better mileage.

When the truck had around 2000 miles I towed a 6000# trailer, drove 70-75 and got around 9 mpg, Truck now has 12,000 and recently towed a 5500# trailer, my new mustang, so I did not want anything bad to happen and I drove 55-60. My mileage was around 12 mpg. Before this trip I did not believe that your speed could make such a big effect on your mileage.

Honestly... I am really frustrated. I was getting better mileage in my 95 Bronco with 4" Lift and 33" Tires!!! I really hope someone or Ford figures this out. Seems to be a problem mostly in the FX4 and Lariat models... Most XLT Screw 4x4's seem to get 4-5 mpg more! Anyone second this?
