just got mine back from the machine shop, going to finish assembling it and install it this weekend. Had mine bored.030, 3 angle valves, healthy cam, Weiand intake and a Holley Truck Avenger carb, long tube headers with 2 1/2" duals to the rear wheels. Should provide a very strong result!!
3 angle valves (also called a 3 angle valve job) are valves that have 3 angles cut on them. The valve seats are cut to matching angles. This is to aid air flow past the valves. Almost like radiusing the edge of the valve but provides more surface area to seal with.
I thought / know it was the seats cut on 3 angles 20 45 & 60 and the valves ( Exaust ) may have a 20 deg back cut. actual deg could vary from builder to builder.
1)351C small CC heads w/ adapter plate bolted onto your 400 block, you'll spank any 'ol 460 that is naturally asperated.
2)460's are big gas guzzlers, you'd have to build the living tar out of it to get it to run great and not eat gas.

Bwhahahaa
You can bolt on any heads you want to a 400 and run it against my 460 any day. I run no chargers or juice and I'll eat it for breakfast and ask for seconds. I've built most Ford engines over my long years and time racing from the straight sixes to the FE's to the 385 series but I've never had any use for the 351m/400. Pretty much a worthless engine for hotrodding in my opinon. And I'm right
Definitely the problems with 400's is the head's you need to get a set of aussi 400 heads that were only made in australia hince the name aussie heads. they have a smaller combustion chamber size around 64cc hince giving you more compression especially if you use some nice deep dished pistons preferably forged. And also don't forget 400's have a horrible reputation of spinning main bearings due to the bad oil flow hince the answer to that problem is a oil passage restrictor kit to keep more oil in the lower end of the engine instead of up on your valves.
