i have a 1984 f150 with 351w. every day if i leave my battery hooked up it will go dead. i cant find anything that would be drawing electricity. the altenator is charging fine. but the other day i took my battery cable off and put it back on with it running the headlights popped. how can i tell where it is drawing juice from? thanks

Turn off your engine, disconnect the negative battery cable and hook a 12V test light between the cable and the battery post, short the battery cable against the post a couple of times. If there is no draw the light will go out, if the light stays on, disconnect the altenator wires, if the light goes out, you have altenator problems (bad diode probably), if light stays on, start pulling fuses one at a time until the light goes out. That will at least locate the circuit that is draining the battery.
