Exclamation Huge hassle!!!

Hi all,
Well I just got the quote from the Ford shop on my "clunky" front end. They told me that I need upper & lower ball joints and new "axel joints".
I have 88000 miles on my 01 4x4 f250 PSD and have already had 2 new sets of lockouts for the front end already, (but thats another story), anyway I purchased a WYNN'S extended warranty and WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!
They told me that these are not covered becuase they are "ball joints" and thats not part of the warranty and the u-joints were rusted so that would take them out of covarage also!!!
I dont know were you all live but here in Wisconsin everything has rust on it after about 12 seconds on the snow and salt covered roads.
Has anybody ever have to deal with these yahoos before???
They cover "control arms, control arm shafts, bearings and bushings, radius arm, radius arm bushings, stabalizerbar, stabalizer link"stabalizer bushing, spindle, wheel bearings and torsion bars"...
What the heck???? Arent they essentially the same thing???
HELP!

Nope ... there not the same thing , and it looks like the warranty covers the parts that don't normaly wear out ! Most warranties do not cover things that wear , like brake pads/shoes , ball joints and such . Extended warranties make a lot of money for the companies that write them ...or they wouldn't write them !

Well I feel your pain, the U-joints are a bearing for sure. Problem with them now is they don't have a grease zert on them anymore as they use to, so they are going to fail sooner or later as everything does and without thye grease zert they will be rusty inside.

Now my way of thinking is the ball joint is a bearing, since how things pivot at that point the terminate at. A point that has something added for movement wear, would be the bearing, if not you would just have the tie rod would be bolted straight up. I would have to argue that whole claim you have there.

I guess I worded it wrong.
I realize the differance if the listed components, but it seems as though they pick the parts that work out best for there pocket book!
I was sold the insurance "that covers the drive train and suspension"... but I guess it really only covers what doesent have much chance of needing replacment.
As a side note,
I did speak with the local Wynns sales rep and he told me that "he had to work really hard" but they are now going to cover the u-joints and the labor to install them but they wont pick up the tab on anything else. Basicly they are covering 1/3 of the total cost for the needed repairs.
I dunno if I sould feel fortunate or just feel lucky to get a "kiss" after the screwing.
I guess I can only suggest that you should be VERY CAREFUL when purchasing from these folks... Did I mention this "coverage cost me $1754.00... I should have just kept the $1754, it would have covered the repairs and left me enough for a cold one!
Just a little info to help all you prospective buyers out there!

Hey, thats something anyway, from the way it sounded this morning, they didn't have to do anything for you. So its a lot better than a sharp stick in the eye. Don't know if I would call it a kiss, maybe just a reach around LOL...Glad they did something for you. The extended warranty stuff is enough to "T" anyone off with what they pull from time to time.
