Confiscated Hat
As for the teacher taking your hat, he probably should have looked at the whole situation and had a little more common sense. I am assuming you were getting ready to walk out the door.
There is no reason for the teacher to yell and leacture a student the way you are saying he did. But keep in mind, he is human.
Legally the teacher can't take your hat. I had a teacher try to take several of mine back when I was in high school. It is amazing how little the teachers can actually do in terms of disipline on the kids there. Knowing what I did and got away with in high school, I would never become a teacher. Now that I have a kid in school, I have already told him that if the teacher has to call me at work because of his behavior, he will not only be in trouble at school, but I will make sure he is in allot of trouble at home as well.
Long story short, as long as you are getting your hat back within a day or so, then it is not worth the fuss, and chalk it up as a bad day.
Look, don't make a big deal out of it. You're young, I promise that you will have plenty of time and experiences to get used to people being rude even when you are following the rules to the T.
Once you are out of school, if you have a job working for someone else, you will be required to follow thier rules. If you don't, that is grounds for dismissal (depending on the situation).
I live in a "No Fault" state; which means that they can fire you for no reason.
I guess what I am trying to say is, "Learn to follow the rules". When I was in school, you had 1 chance. After that, it was detention or expulsion.
I hope I didn't make you too angry, but there are too many 2nd chances these days.

. I saw the teacher who took the hat and he said he didnt relize how close he were to the door and that we were signed out to go. He didnt mean to be a jerk. I said thats alright, your just enforcing the rules. Dont know why I got so mad over it, sometimes I can be quite stupid. Maybe its cause im a teen..... Today went well enough till I went to work. Slid into the ditch by the one barn at work. Couldnt see the driveway cuz the snow drifted over it making it level with the ditch. Once I realized where the drive was, I tried to slow down and turn into it quick (mistake 1) and just slid toward the ditch. In panic, hit the brakes harder (BIG mistake
) then let off and tured the wheel but it was too late. FOOOOOF!! Both pass wheels were burried and the truck was tilted pretty bad. Tried to back out in 4x4 but made it bout 3 ft. Remembered what I read from these forums (thanks yall
. Boy, Ive got alot to learn about drivin
.
I grew up in a very strict household with navy rules. Didn't make ROTC due to colorblindness, but I still follow almost all the rules/regs.
If you are ever invited to an American or Royal Canadian Legion make sure you remove your hat BEFORE the door.
It can get pretty darn costly ($$$$$$$$$$$$) if they catch you wearing it inside.

Put the hat on the floor upside down, put the coat and hat on, bend down to pick up the hat. FWIW: When I was a young adult in the 70s it was not uncommon if a young man wore a hat where he was not suppose to have one, that an older man would give him a slap upside the back of the head to wake him up. That includes a baseball game while saluting the flag or inside a building, especially a church.
You think your treatment was brutal, wait until you walk into a dojo by accident with your sneakers on. You only do it once.
I would guess you were wearing a knit cap. I do not think I would have taken that from a kid during cold weather even if your mother was picking it up and you had to wait outside. I might have read you the school regs once or twice while you repeated after me.
At one of my kid's school no one is allowed to come into the school with an untucked shirt (tails) including adults. I have changed work clothes more then once to pick my daughter up. I can't run in the halls either
