Internet sale Rant
Do to the rules of this website I can not post the company name but if you'd like to know who it is you can shoot me an e-mail. And NO it is not Motor Haven. I have received excellent servise from Ken and his staff at Motor Haven.
I ordered an Undercover Tonneau from these guys back in late September. They had mistakenly sent me the wrong one. Well it took 3 months for them to send the correct cover. Unfortunately it was damaged in shipping. That one was refused shipment by the body shop that I was having it delivered to.
I have talked to the owner of ******** about it and he said it was company policy not to replace an item with out getting the wrong item returned first and that my body shop does not answer the phone when his shipper tries to call to get info about returning the cover and this is costing him $$$. It's like WTF? They are there to receive 2 covers but never there to answer the phone? I don't know what the deal is but they have a full time secretary and they always have been there when I stop by (mainly at lunch) to see if anyone has picked up the cover.
Anyways I have spent $600 bucks on a cover that won't even fit my truck and alls I get is passed on to a guy in shipping that says he'll find out what's up and get back to me. Ya, I've never heard back and my e-mails rarely get returned.
So if anyone likes to gamble, feel free to order from these guys. I like to gamble but I usually have a drink in one hand and a pretty waitresses to look at.
Just thought I'd share a little about one of these fine internet companies that everyone might want to order from.
It is becoming more of problem these days with e-commerce. Your Tonneau supplier has just barrowed your $600 bucks for five months, free of interest!
<o =""></o><o =""></o>Here’s what I like to do with e-companies I have never dealt with before when making major purchases:
<o =""></o>
Prior to ordering, email the company asking them to verify stock. Additionally, ask them if it is possible for them to provide you with the serial number of the item you purchased (prior to shipment).<o =""></o>
<o =""></o>This is by no means immunity from bait and switch, but it does add you a little more protection.<o =""></o>
Fordborn has sent me some links to the BBB in their area and I will be contacting them tomorrow. Thanks Rollie!

Great News!
David Wells Director of sales for Undercover received an e-mail this morning from someone about this and other threads that was posted about *********. He then e-mailed me asking to call him. He had nothing but good news for me. David offered to replace my tonneau with the correct one. He will be contacting one of his distributors in KC on Thursday to set up the exchange. Undercover is doing this all at there expense and not the company that I ordered it from!
Theses guys at Undercover are awesome. They really care about there product and want everyone to be happy with it no matter who you purchased it from. Thanks UnderCover!
David Wells with UnderCover ...
Thanks everyone for your support and I will keep you updated on when I get my cover.

I would also like to thank Ken and his staff. Last fall I won a Super Chip at a Truck show that was donated by MotorHaven. After installing the chip it kept throwing codes. I had to send it back twice to get reburned. Not once did anyone give me any flack over it or charge me a dime. They were more than helpfull in getting my problem solved.
It's great that there are companies out there that care about the consumer and will go the extra mile. And that are not in it to make a fast buck like the people that I oredered my tonneau from.
