What do you mean by cushions? Autofab sells a coil insert that acts like an airbag, basicly a softer progressive bumpstop. There really isnt any rubber cushions around the coils on these trucks.
Parts books don't show any cushions or inserts for the coil springs. They started with those in 1970 to reduce noise. They do list spring seats for top and bottom. Could this be what you're talking about?
Is it just one on each side? Is it top or bottom? Is it a thin rubber cushion with a lip around it to hold it in place? It's molded to accept the shape of the spring/ Or is it more like a doughnut that slips into the bottom?I've got the illustration here, just trying to clarify it.
Ok, I found it. It's part number C5TZ 5A307-A , they call it a spring seat. It's pictured as a round cushion with a step in it to center itself in the coil, with a hole for that bolt to go thru. A plate or washer and nut secure it all together. I can remember selling these in the 70's when I first got into Ford parts. It appears to be thicker than an inch and a diameter of the coil spring. If you want, click on my name and send a private message to me with your email address. I can scan the page from the parts book and send it to you. You can try NAPA for this by giving them the part number to cross over. Moog might also still make them. A good parts store might be able to track them down. I tried the locator for NOS Ford, but nothing came up. I can put it out there to see if someone might have it.

I think I do. I just got back from the garage and looked. This looks almost like a pulley but the lower spring is wrapped around it, right? No rubber, just metal? If you can't find any let me know. These look pretty good, surface rust is all. My email address is stang at indy dot net.
When I rebuilt the front end of my effie, I used High Pressure Heavy Duty hydraulic hose cut to the length of one coil, lubricated the bottom coil, then slid the hose over the coil "not easy", and left the last 1/2" of hose as overhang. The tops of the springs are clamped to the top spring perch.
After doing this, the bumps and rattles in the steering virtualy disappeared, and the ride feel is very much improved.
