New seat cushion??

Ok, so I have 325 on the clock and my interior is just worn out. Easy enough fix, I'll get some new skins and new cushions right? Wrong!! Cushions are obsolete!!! Wtf??? So now what do I do? My drivers seat cushion is worn down to a nub practically. Where can I find another seat cushion? What are others doing? Junkyards? Hoping for a better option that that! Thanks in advance!!!

Here you go - Driver Side Cushions (people have been having an extremely hard time finding PS cusions, but you can use an inexpensive garment steamer to revive the PS cushions with amazing results)...

Seat Cushion Pad | Genuine Ford | 2C3Z-25632A22-AA : Genuine Factory OEM Parts & Accessories | TascaParts.com

https://www.am-autoparts.com/Ford/f2...FYONswodLxYP6w

2005-2007 Ford F250 F350 F450 F550 4X4 2WD -Driver Side Bottom Seat Foam Cushion | eBay

https://www.1aauto.com/2001-07-ford-...FUiHswodRQAP0Q

Alternative is to upgrade to newer seats from perhaps the '05-'11 year models.

I appreciate the links, problem is my part. Umber is 1C3Z-25632A23-AA which is apparently the ONLY truck with that seat p/n. Most are 1C3Z-28632A23-AA. Apparently the 8 is a whole lot different than the 5 and they are not interchangeable so says ford. I would love it if anyone could shed any light on this as I'm quite desperate for a new seat cushion at this point!

yes i have seen the new ones, but as i stated above the part numbers are different and i cannot figure out why. if anyone has any insight it would be most helpful!!! ford says don't waste my money unless the part numbers match up and they tell me that the 5 and the 8 difference is a different type seat bottom??? i dont know but i do know i dont want to pay to have the cushion done only to find it wont work anyway, ya know?

Where did you get your part number from? Ford changed part numbers so often I don't think I would get hung up on that issue at all.

Again, if you know your seat style (bucket, 40/20/40, heated or non-heated, etc.), just purchase a seat cushion with the exact same configuration using another year's part number (2002, 2003, etc.). To be honest, I've done seat cushions on both heated and non-heated seats, and the cushions are identical except for a shallow cut out channel for wiring on the heated seats, but either can easily work in place of the other.

Although I understand wanting to match a part number, you're making it harder than it needs to be because the cushions are interchangeable through the 2001-2007 year range, regardless of what part number was used in any given year.

Call the guys at The Seat Shop and they can give you highly experienced advice on how you should proceed. >>> http://www.theseatshop.com/contact.html

That's exactly the information that I was looking for!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! All I could ever get from ford or my local upholstery shop was my truck is too old and I'm out of luck. While I knew that probably wasn't the case I didn't want to throw more money than necessary trying to solve a $150 problem!!!! Again, many many many thanks Pete!!!

You're more than welcome, Grant.

The guys at The Seat Shop should be especially helpful on this issue since they do not show having a cushion for your year model. I have no doubt they can confirm which other year model cushions are interchangeable for you, and they may even have them in stock as well.

Heck, if you can't actually find a true plug-n-play replacement, I would be tempted to purchase a new cushion which is close enough, and then trim it by hand where needed, and/or use contact cement to glue on any extra padding where it might be missing. You can roughly use your existing cushion as a model to predict what it's replacement should look like, and once the cover is back on, no one will ever notice any patch work you did to make it work.

When I replaced my DS seat cushion in my truck, it was at about 230K miles and really didn't look too bad, but the cover was torn at the entrance edge, and I just decided to include the new cushion with the new cover. WOW... what a difference!

At the time, I also chose to NOT replace the PS cushion due to it's low level of use, but I DID use a garment steamer to "restore" it and again, WOW... what a difference that made, too! I could see the steam causing the foam to swell anywhere from 1/2" to almost 1 full inch larger in some places (compared to before the steam).

Just talked to the sweatshop and as it turns out, as is the irony of my life, 2001 is a stand alone year. Imagine that. Anyway, good news is I can do a total seat swap with an 03 or 05 or something. Bad news is, nothing is ever cheap or easy. Thank you again Pete for turning me on to them as they are a WEALTH of information!!
