I was wondering if anyone had used this kit for their trans? I have a 1996 F150 5.8L with E4OD and was wanting to firm up shifts, and this is what popped up at summit racing. I thought I would have to drop the pan but if I don't have to that is a plus. If you have tried this how was it to hook up?
i have a ele. b&m shift plus kit you wire it to 2 wires on the ecm or you can wire it straight to transmission plug. directions are easy to follow gives the pin numbers and wire color it worked fine on mine it raises the line pressure which will make it shift firmer. but if you already have tranny troubles it will make it go out sooner.
you would be better off doing the j-mod on your valve body seperator plate.
that makes a big difference i did mine and replaced 1-2 shift accu. and 2-3 shift accu. and remove the springs the whole thing only cost 35.00 from ford for the 2 gaskets and 2 pistons plus fluid i used max life 12 qts cost 42.00 you can also turn up the line pressure in the tranny sol.but you need to hook up a guage so you know how much line pressure it has. should not be over 200psi in rev. and i cant recall in drive and low but the book says specs on it. most people say not to turn it up but with a guage its ok dave
