Rear gears Ident.

I have someone interested in buying my front diff if it is a Dana 44 and the rear diff if it is a 9" with 4:10 ratio . How can I tell what I got and what are they worth [ballpark] . Thanks ,Tom

I think all 73-79 1/2 tons have 44 front and 9" rear. There should be a tag on one of the center bolts - the numbers will tell you the gear ratio.

prices on those parts vary from state to state depending on the demand of axles in that area.....try calling a few salvage yards and asking for their prices on those particular parts, might give you a better idea of what you can get out of them..........my 3 cents........

depending on gears, and condition, ive seen pairs of these axles sell for as little as $150, (stock/whooped) to $3000 (built) The higher the gear ratio, (like 4.10 and numerically higher) tend to demand more money. The 44 front will be worth more money to somebody who wants to retube/use it for a different application if it does not have cast wedges for the radius arms.
