Which diablo chips will fit?

I have been looking for a used diablo chip for my 99 F150 5.4l. I have found some, but none of them are from a truck like mine. They are from the following vehicles:

Ford Focus Delta Chip
Ford Mustang single program
99 Ford Cobra Delta Chip
00 Ford Lightning single program

Will any of these work if sent in for reprogramming?

Provided they aren't custom tuned with "ticks" on the chip they will work. Note that reprogramming and used chips are not warranteed.

I understand the warranty and expected nothing else. I understand about custom tunes, but haven't heard "ticks" before. What is that?

A truly custom tuned chip will have what Diablo calls tick credits on it. A chip with tick credits cannot be reprogrammed for stock vehicle performance tunes, only with other custom tunes that carry a tick charge.

Ok, that makes sense I think. So, in other words, so long as the chip is a standard tune and not a custom tune, it will work in my truck after being reprogrammed even if the chip was last used in a mustang, focus, or lightning?

Thanks for the quick and informative responses!

Yes. The only Diablo chips you can't use are diesel chips (all diesel chips have tick credits on them).

Ok, I was reading about custom tunes at diablo's website. It says a custom tune is $120 and they'll "tune it til your happy". So what happens if I find a chip with 120 tick credits on it?

If you're not using any of the below you will not benefit from a custom tune:

Nitrous
Larger Mass Air Flow sensor
Long tube headers
Large throttle body
Turbo or supercharger
Major engine work (head work, very radical cam, etc.)

Intakes and exhausts will not impact programming. $40 is the fee for non-custom at www.motorhaven.com, $89 for custom. Don't buy a chip with ticks unless you have the above mods.
