Hey guys, this is the first time I've written here and was hoping someone could answer a question for me. I have a '99 5.0 eb, and recently inquired about a delta chip from a local dealer (I live in the toronto area in Canada). He told me to stick with the diablo chip because of cold weather problems with the delta chip and that they are difficult to install. I would prefer the delta strictly for the reason that I am not always able to obtain high octane fuel, so I would like to be able to turn it off or install a second program that still enhances the tranny. Thanks in advance.
The true person to talk to about the Delta is Ken, but he is out of town at the moment. I have not heard of any cold weather problems from a Delta though. And as far as difficulty installing - if you have ever wired a toggle switch, then you can install a Delta. It is still plugged into your PCM, but you have a wire from the chip to a toggle switch you mount inside the truck in a desirable position. I first looked at the Delta, but since I have to run 93 all the time because of the supercharger, there was no use for it in my case. But for a stock or slightly modded engine that can run on 87 or 89, I would recommend the Delta anyday...
