Just got through putting a 4'' lift on my truck only to find out that the exhaust hits the shock and the leaf spring.
My question is can I remove the muffler and just run the truck straight pipe out the side in front of the back wheel, is there any adverse problems from this, I know the turbo creates backpressure. Is this enough or should there be a muffler?
I did that very thing. I was able to use my tail pipe piece for the conversion as well and my 5" tip also. The only downside is your back tire and wheel will get sooty after every 500 miles or so but I wash my truck often enough that this isn't a problem. Roll down the back pass. window and enjoy. You will really hear the turbo more as well. It is not louder until you mash it, then you will get some looks.
