Just goes to show people will buy ANYTHING. It would be kinda cool though, have your own little piece of history. I guess the wierd thing about this whole deal is it hits REALLY close to home. It's all just another news story until it happens in your backyard

Put it on ebay, quick. The only things I found on ebay were newspapers. There is nothing actually signed by him.

Okay..I'm going to say my opinion on selling that type of stuff then I'm done with this topic.

People that are willing to buy this stuff look up to that person in some manner. Look at many of the past killers like him. They all wanted the fame that the other person got. Not saying that all people that buy it are possible serial killers but why in the heck would they want a piece of a person so terrible that he could go heartedly kill 10 possibly more people in cold blood. This guy didn't shoot people from far away...he wanted to look right in there eyes.

So basically by your selling that stuff, trying to make a quick buck, your promoting people affection of a serial killer. Do you really want to be part of that???? You should treat anything he had anything to do with like I would treat him....Like trash...throw it away. It's only worth something to the people who think that guy is worth something.

I'm done with this before I say something I might regret.

To some extent I agree with Jon, BUT... I have paid a fair share for items like **** Flags, Lee Harvey Oswald Stuff, and photographs of Timothy McVeigh while he was in the Military. I in no way look up to Hitler or the others. I am simply a history buff who finds that information interesting.

On a side note, I teach History in high school and use that stuff to show the kids. It makes it real to them. (should have seen the time I walked into class with an SS armband and ordered the kids to do stuff they knew they shouldn't).

My point is this, there are some people that buy the stuff just becuase it is connected in some way to an infamous person. There are others who have a genuine and useful interest. If we shield society from all of this type of stuff then we blind ourselves to history and let these unimaginable acts repeat themselves. What have we really gained by making it "trash".

My recommendation is to donate these types of items to your local school district or local museum (since it is more of a local issue). They will find a good, wholesome, and educational use for it.

Nuff Said,
bout .02 cents worth I'd say,

Blain

You've got a point on the type of items you mentioned. Those articles are pieces of our society and history that we should never forget. Those items hold a "meaning" to the masses. Those bring about strong feelings of shame, remorse, hate, regret but they also give us a sense of pride that we have worked past that type of thinking, for the most part anyway.

But items like a signed ticket from Rader is just something you have to say you have something touched by that person. Who cares if he touched it? It doesn't make it special. A business card???? That has absolutely no meaning other than a killer can get away from the law long enough that he can work for a city department across the street from a police station and live life like a real person.

Items from serial killers hold no historical or sociological importance. They are just another person who is sick enough that they can kill a human. I bury my fish when they die. I couldn't imagine killing a human.

Serial killers strive to be more famous than the last one. So the more we promote them and make them feel important the more we will have. Most serial killers thrive on getting famous why should we fan that flame?
