Have you guys seen that Dennis Rader the accused BTK killer was arrested today? That is so great. Loretta has been scared to death since all this came back up. That dirt bag was living in Park City as a City Official. He worked in the city building across the street from the police department. How crazy is that????
There are already dirt bags on ebay selling signed tickets and his business card. It amazes me how low people will go to make a quick buck.
I think that the harsh reality is that people will pay for these items. Along with the freaks, there are collectors out there. If I had something signed by him, I would probably sell it too.
I typed in "BTK arrest" in google and saw that the story was covered in LA and San Diego. The AP picked up on it when the letters started coming in and I guess this was one more hit. A really really big one.
Did you see the interview he did with KSN news???? He did a piece about wild dog running loose in Park City. Just think, as we were sitting in Spangles the morning of the swap meet eating breakfast and drinking coffee, we were just a few blocks from a serial killer!!!! What's this world coming to?
Glad it's over and he is in custody. I think though he was trying to get caught. Also did you here that his own daughter turned him in and gave evidence they used to match the DNA.
Sounds like he did want to get caught. He could have stayed low and nobody would have ever guessed.
Kind of scary that someone could lead a normal life and also kill ten people. It kinda sounds like he wasn't the most popular guy in the neighborhood though.
I think he wanted to get caught too. Either the guilt caught up with him and he couldn't just give himself up or he was mad because people had forgotten about him.
Or track team stays at a motel in Park City every year for the state meet. It is the motel right by the Spangles. Kinda scarry when you know you were that close.
I have a citation that he made out on my truck while it was sitting in Wichita. It was excactly issued one year before he was arrested, 2-25-04. We still have it. Not for sure what we'll do with it.
My mom says we should wait till he's been prosecuted but we could use the money to work on my truck that got the citation even though it ran. We'll probably let my moms sister put it on and split it because she has stored the truck for us. My aunt live in Wichita by where BTK was arrested. Just strange how it was dated exactly one year before he was caught, don't ya think.
That is what will make it a little more unique and hopefully worth more. Good luck and lets us know how it goes.
By the way welcome to the site hope you will keep coming back and staying on the boards. Check out the Kansas Chapter we have a great group here and new members are always welcome.
