I'm another one who just wants to get this straight- I had my truck in a couple of weeks ago with fuel milage from around 17 down to 14.5 had it checked out and the service manager said everything was in spec with their portable road test gizmo.Oh well I thought my calculator was broke. Anyway my latest flash was set Nov. 03 , after driving 25000 mi. you tend to get used to the way its running. --- Jaybe I'm heading down on the 2nd so if you see a white 350 in your way just give me a push coming down 75 from mich just pulling one roadking so shouldn't have to much trouble.

There was a flash that came out around late November 04 for 03s and 04's. It is a huge improvement over the October 03 flash that you would have if it was flashed in Nov 03.

Go get it done. It would have a number like 3U7A-12A650-FTE. The FTE will be different depending on year and model. i.e FXE for Excursion.

Our town kind of has a Ford Lite dealer. You know ...no body or paint shop...not much inventory. I think they do mostly dealer trades. Thanks again.

Wow wow no flames intended just very little time to post, sorry for being short, im at work. Correct me if I'm wronge but when you put the predator flash in you essentlaly are removing the ford flash. If this is true then you aren't using the ford flash.

No, my dealer would not do it just because. I had to quickly start a lie that my idle was rough after getting off the hiway. The ...FTE flash is the best flash yet. I almost bit the bullet and ordered a predator (which I may do Later on).

I disagree with having to lie in order to get a fix that was caused after the purchase of my $41,000.00 truck.

Agree TOTALLY pdbd... just the fact that it improves some trucks should be enough to do all trucks - ESPECIALLY since they took away about 2 mpg with the Oct 03 flash !!!
(which they said was mandatory at the time !)

I've got an April 04 F-250 6.0 with a March 04 build date. I haven't had it flashed, but want to. Would it be safe to assume it essentially has the October 03 type programming? From everything I've read the November 04 flash is great, so I'll get it done soon. What is it "supposed" to fix so that I'll know what to tell them is "wrong with it?"

Odd idle at random times....
that way they shouldn't say "we can't make it happen"
or at least it makes them seem more inept to say that

Flashes and SCMT

Not to hijack the thread but its along the same lines......I have the SCMT 1704 and I put it back to stock the other day then brought the truck in for service. After I got the truck back I noticed on the slip that they had reflashed the computer. So I put the "tune" back in and as I did so I noticed that the 1704 didn't save the stock file. It simply erased it and put in the tune. So what file is saved in the 1704? The file prior to me bringing the truck in for service or did it actually save the new file (after service) without saying so? As far as I know the last time my PCM was flashed was Sept. 2004.

Dunno - that would be VERY bad if it didn't resave the "new" current tune before reloading the perf tune...

then when u go back to ford they say - Hey, somebodies been playing - we already loaded a later tune then this according to our Oasis report for this truck...

best ask this in the SCMT thread...

Will Ford still flash my truck for free even if it's outside of the 3/36 warranty????

Also, can anyone chime in about this affecting the tow/haul mode (worried because I've read a few posts about it messing up the tow/haul mode, which I like)
