ball joints?

ball joints?
I've been getting a squeaking like an old bed spring from the right front for about 2 months. I'm figuring it's probably the ball joints. It's only noticeable with the window down. Does anyone know or think it should be safe to drive for another week or so until I can get it repaired?

If you want to check to see if it is your balljoints, place a jack under the lower control arm in question and raise the truck up so the wheel is about an inch off of the ground. This will "unload" the upper ball joint. Check for movement. Only way to check the lower is to remove the spring pressure which is nearly impossible to do without taking things apart. If the upper is bad, the lower is most likely bad as well but not anywhere near as bad as the upper can get, the uppers go first. Also check your wheel bearings while you are at it. Hope this helps.

Most of the time it's the sway bar bushings being a little dry on the frame. A little squirt with the grease needle in where the bar rubs on the rubber bushing does wonders.
It can also be the upper control arm bushings also getting dry. Those get replaced with the upper ball joints.
