When i bought my '65 it had the trusty vise grip window crank and door opening lever. Needless to say the teeth on the shafts are tore up and I'm wanting to put on the correct parts now.
On my 66 Bronco (which has the same handles and I assme the same door opening lever as my 65 F100), I had to replace the door opening lever and found that this part was common to the 65-66 Mustang. I was told there was a "short" and "long" version of the part by one vendor. You may try with some Classic Mustang vendors such as Scott Drake etc.
Was not successful with the regulator shaft repair kit in my 65. Perhaps with proper tools not that difficult. May want to have spare regulator on hand. The window regulators, and the last time i looked, the regulator repair kits are available thru few of the Ford Parts supplier's. Suggest call in inquire about kit for suggestions. They should be able to give some indication if they sell the part. Fortunately came across set in good condition at salvage yard or was going to go for second attempt.

I have to replace the one for the handle and window crank on mine. I have a spare door with better teeth on each part. I'm not looking forward to this task but at least I can kind of practice on the spare.
