t5 swap

hey guys whats new? Has anyone swapped a t5 into one of our trucks using the original clutch linkage? I'm looking at the california mustang kit to swap a t5 in place of a toploader. Pretty nice kit they have. I know the mounts wont work in the truck but the adapter plate looks good. anyone tried it or have any other suggestions. thanks Don

A friend of mine did the swap into a 61 F100 with a Y-block using the stock bellhousing and clutch linkage. Go to http://www.badgerlandf100s.com/ and look in the tech articles on how to do the swap. This is the second one they did. First was in a 56 with a 223 6 cylinder.

From: Destin/Ft. Walton Beach,
I never did it with an FE, but I HAVE installed T-5's in 65 and 66 F100's with a small block. I bolted an aluminum Mustang aftermarket clutch quadrant to the factory slick 60's clutch rod lever. Then I used a hole saw, and bored a hole for the Mustang clutch cable to seat in. It's a little tough routing the cable though. Also, a T-5 doesn't hold up very well behind a 347 stroker in a pickup. It was a World Class T-5 out of a 94 Mustang Cobra, too Besides that, the shifter interferes with a bench seat, unless you fabricate an offset bracket to locate the shifter about 2 inches towards the front of the truck.
