When it is cold, as I go to work in the morning, the front breaks on my '89 F-150 are VERY touchy and lock up quite easily. Any ideas why? When the truck has been driven for a while, say 10-15 minutes, everything is fine.
I'm surprised no one has responded. I don't know much about anti-locks, but I'll start with a few of the simple things to ponder:
"when it's cold"; Good observation on your part, how cold?
When was the brake system last flushed and new fluid installed? Brake fluid is alcohol based, it'll suck moisture from the air. That's how you get water (and corrosion) in the brake system.
Does the ABS look original to the truck? If it is... Cripes! It's old enough to join the Army.
