Well I learned a lot this evening by messing around and trying different things... what I did find out was that you only arm the system when you push the power doorlocks or press lock on the remote but it does not arm when you just push the lock button down. Well at least I know how to lock the truck up without worrying about setting the darn thing off
Kista.... I have had this happen too. I read in the book that after you lock the doors, you have a set amount of time before the security system is set, like on a house. If you are not out in time, it will go off. Or if you know you are gonna be in the truck for a while, just unlock the doors till you are ready to go...
Excellent I'm happy to say now, that I figured it out It's kind of embarrasing, so I won't share what happened :P Kinda strange for such a thorough person like me!
Kinda funny that I'm using a GM remote on a Ford Truck though, but don't worry, I tore off the GM logo off that sucker.
Please share what you did? I too have an alarm simular to yours--actually mine says "Remote Alarm J3" on the box and was a dealer installed alarm--and I've tried everything you posted about and nothing has worked yet.
Cycle the key to RUN then OFF about 10 times...VERY quickly. You'll see that doors will lock themselves. Now press a button on the remote and thats it.
Roushians, what exactly did you do to program your remote?
Im trying to do it for my dads truck, a 96 f150.
I looked for those 2 jumper wires but i didnt see any...

I also found this thing. Is this the shock sensor?

Another problem my dad is having is that he took his battery out of the truck to try and reset the computer. When he hooked the battery back up, the alarm would not stop going off. After getting the alarm to stop, he ran into a new problem. Now, whenever he goes to start the truck, he needs to press the alarm bypass switch in order to get it to turn over. The manual says that if this happens, you have to take it back to the dealer (which he isn't about to do).
I had forgotten about turning the ignition switch on and off 10 times but that also works just as well. As for the plug I think it was above the gas pedal or around the hump area, it's just two wires and a plug.
I'll look at mine tommorrow when I finish up my truck, it's currently inside at work and I had to tear it apart for new sindle and wheel bearings and I had to replace the axle joint so I'm waiting for that to come in the morning.

Hi, I have a 95 F-250 and I'm trying to program a second fob which I bought on eBay. I'm having the same problems as you did. I can't find the two-pin connector. Can you share with me what you did? Is there an emergency override button under the dash?
Thanks, Mike
