Headlight '02 X

yesterday i had my right headlight go out when i wanted to change it i noticed that the ground wire part of the plug was melted from some kind of shortage.
Anyone has seen tis problem before or knows the cause.

Are you using aftermarket bulbs or the stock ones?

Also, have you changed the bulbs before?

That a standard Ford problem. I replaced the socket on the passenger side when my X was 1 year old. It looked like battery acid had corroded the wires and melted the plug. Every since I changed the socket..no problems.

I used stock original factory bulbs
