Ethanol mileage engine idea.

It got fantastic fuel mileage but I don't remember the numbers and it had the same driveability of a gas motor. He fought with one of the major oil companies, who wanted to buy the patent, for months. It was a regular James Bond deal including the theft of the car. I have no idea what happened to the car after the oil company got it but the technology is out there, just have to get creative. Best of luck on the venture, it could pay off beyond your dreams.
as much as i would hat to say it, this might be easier done on a chebby diesel, one of those crappy 350's that was converted to diesel, but back the compression down to about 13:1 or 14:1 and adjusting the mixture, or, i know of a turbo diesel volvo 6 banger that maybe it could be done on. i guess the biggest problem would be spark plugs.

Just asking Rusty BTW, how cheaply can you produce ethanol?
Thinking of my Radio Control airplanes motor, they didn't use spark plugs. They had glow plugs, you lit it up till you got the motor running, then removed power. Those motors run off an alcohol/nitrous(5%-10%) mix with 2 cycle oil mixed in for lube. Maybe rig a similar setup with deisel glow plugs?

Those model airplane engines are compression - ignition. The compression gets the mixture hot, then the glowing plug ignites it. The stresses created are enormous. They can get away with it because they are so small. It would burn down a larger engine in a few minutes, if not sooner.
The site I got the plans for the still from say that it can be made for about $1.00 / gallon, if you sell the byproducts. Mine will most likely start out around $1.50 to $2.00 / gallon. Once I get things working right and figured out, that number should be more in line with their numbers.
So if I'm making the stuff for $1.00 / gallon, and I get half the mileage of gasoline, I'd still be coming out ahead the way gas prices are around here at the moment. But I anticipate it'll get the same mileage as gasoline. Particularly since it's going into a car, not a truck. Putting me ahead monetarily, and keeping the $$$ out of the hands of Sheik Yabouti.
-unrelated to alternative fuels-
On the car this thing will be going into:
I've come up with two options. Both are mustang related. I'd like to put it into an early mustang, like a '67 - '70 or so. But it seems those are all collectors items or small piles of rust. So my other option is to put it into a '79 - '93 mustang. I know there's an oil pan for the latter swap; I'm looking for other related items, like motor mounts and headers.
So if anyone knows where I can get an earlier Mustang for cheap, or components for the '79 - '93 swap, ANY information would be GREATLY appreciated!
