MAF Late model 460
Thanks for the pic's and info. Your truck looks great.
I see you are running a MSD Box. What plugs are you running now with your setup? What about gap? I've heard and read that MSD doesn't like Platinum Plugs much and works better with a Standard Copper Plug? Have you heard of this? I was recently in Advanced Auto Parts and they had Autolite Copper Plus Plugs on sale for .79 each. So I bought a couple sets.
What year is your Truck?

I know i emailed you but ill post so others can get some more insight.
My motor is a late 96 motor so it came with the Platinum Plugs. My Truck is a early 97 but i always list it as a 96 so that the unexperienced don't confuse it with the new body style trucks.
I have since changed the factory plugs out to a newer Platinum champion plug. As to Gap, i haven't gone past stock yet, The 6A is relatively new and i am trying to avoid too many changes at once, so as to get the MASS AIR caliberated a little closer. As to cold starts i have very few problems with that. I have heard that the MSD does not perform as well with different brands of Platinums, Autolights and Champions are supposed to work well, Bosch and Splitfire are a little less favorible. (This is hear say though from local parts shop). I am definately going to increase the gap, and probably add the replacement blaster coil too.
Thanks for the compliment on the truck.
Have a good one

LOL yep im going diesel but i couldnt do the easy thing, i had to do something a little more complicated, plus i couldn't bring myself to put a "binder" motor in my truck (old friend who drives Semi says hed kill me if i put a IHOP in my truck too) So im going unique and with a Cummins W/NV4500 i don't need the NV5600 the Cummins is a Banks powered w/ a cam plate dynoed @308 HP 827lb Torque before the old man rolled it on ice, i might tune her down but still will be another awesome conversion plus i have all my ford 460 parts sold and the convert is going to cost me next to nothing vs. the imminent rebuilt that has to happen which will cost 3K+ so a 33000 mile 96 12 V diesel is a pretty good deal.
Thanks again for the support it was fun writing about all the MAF converting and the five speed.
