Hey guys, my 95 has this horrible creaking noise while flexing in the front. Replaced spring wear pads, rivets arnt moving in the hangers. Could the engine crossmember rivets do this? i also repaired the upper rad support as it had cracked, it looks like there is some wear marks in the gap between the lf door and fender. Noise sounds like it is coming from right under my feet. Any one expereinced this? Thanks for any feedback. Josh
How long have you owned this truck ? If it has been subjected to pulling heavy loads in it's past life it could acount for the noise you hear ( the cracked radiator support may be a sign of heavy pulling ) . My F350 pulled a flatbed gooseneck , hauling structural steel and it makes creaking noises too. There was a post on this subject last week , you may want to look it up .
I have a 96 350 with a similar problem. Mine sounds like it is coming from the front of the drivers door at the base of the windsheild area. It creeks alot going over dips and bumps, just started to do it more often the past two weeks. I am the second owner, the origonal owner bought it in cali and hauled the whole fam and belongings to breckenridge CO, where she then used it to haul horse trailers up through the Eisenhower tunnel and back. SO she had decent sized loads on it. When I took it to emissions one of the tech's noticed it and said there was a Ford recall on some rivets in the frame that would take care of it, I went to Ford to check it out and they had never heard of that recall. bummer.
Have a good welder weld in all your cross members and brackets that are riveted. Also consider replacing the stock cab bushings with polyurethane. check all the body bolts you can find to make sure they are tight and adjust any body panels that are rubbing. Hope this helps, it worked on mine!
It could be your leaf spring bushings. There is one right under the door and it could be making that noise, especially if you hear it over dips and bumps.
Yeah I kinda had a feeling it would come to welding. I didn't even think about cab bushings. Thanks for the help guy's! Now I have a project for the weekend. Sorry about taking over your thread Navistar.
No big deal man, but this noise is annoying. Think I might just break down and buy a new super duty. Anyone wanna buy a 95 f250 4x4 reg cab, full load, 210000miles for 5500 bucks canadian? Meh, maybe I should keep it for a bogger project! Thanks for the tips
only makes this noise when flexing, for example drving over a speed bump with one tire only, is fine when both tires move the same. This is why i suspect it to be in the frame or body when flexing. ARRRGGHHH!
