I looked up slick in this forum and found that it is just the name they gave to these trucks 61 thru 66 because they have such a slick look..Hope I'm right if not someone will correct me. (I hope)
You now also back when these trucks were new nobody had to lock them up times change. and heck you know they were gentlemen back than and they had to open the door for their lady first. (I still do)

I only have one lock, so I couldn't have gotten them mixed up. It was the same clip that came off the same door. I don't know that it worked before I tried to replace the lock cylinder because the key I had didn't work the door. I think the clips have to be like new without any play due to the design. Like Barry said, maybe I need new clips. The design doesn't seem to allow for much wear, so instead of just replacing the parts with new ones, I might play around with some ideas to make the linkage more solid and see what happens. I'll keep the original parts just in case.

Just though I would put my 2 cents in about the door single door lock, When me and my father started restoring our 49 ford F-1 I asked him the same question about the door locks, His responce to the single door lock was that it was made that way because those were the days of gentelmen when the man always opend and closed the doors for their wife, you would get out you wife would lock the drivers door, you would go around open the passenger door for you wife and then lock it with the key. I always thought it was a funny answer but good enough for me. you also have to remember most people didn't even lock door, and left keys in the ignition, where they got stuck. which was where my ignition key was.

Newbie here. I have a 63 Unibody with no lock on the drivers side. I’m looking to install the lock I purchased from Mac’s. Anybody have info about the rod connecting to keyed lock to the door latch mechanism. I’m assuming it’s the same rod as the passenger side. Any help on drilling the hole and installing the new lock would be appreciated.
