The door lock is stuck in the locked position. Can't open it from the inside or outside, with the key or keyless, remote or by pulling up on the door lock ****. The door is lock and stuck shut.
When I try to unlock it electronicly, it acts like it wants to unlock but the **** doesn't come up. When I try the key, it feels jammed.

Having same problem with 98 Explorer, keyless entry would not work, key would not work, could not pull up on on ****, kept playing with remote and finally opened, broke inside door handle trying to open, after getting open i was able to diable the auto lock feature, took to body shop replaced door handle thought it was going to work, it did for a while and now the handle broke again. I am hoping also that some one can help, it seems like a larger problem for ford. If i find any help or advice I will post it for you too,

I'd suggest that the mechanism might be frozen due to cold weather, but I see that you're in San Diego. Maybe some sand from the beach got in there?
What I suggest is that you get some graphite lock lubricant, and shoot a bunch of it into the lock cylinder. Maybe then you can unlock it with the key. Failing that, you'll need to have a locksmith open the door. Then you can pull the door panel and find out what's wrong.

Good luck!
It's been freakin cold here...... (at night) Plus it happened in the middle of the day. and hadn't been to the beach in awhile. But I know what you mean. I rusted out the ignition switch on my baja bug when I used to keep my key in my wetsuit.
WD40 should work as well as graphite? when I put the key in, it turns toward the locking position, but it's like it's jammed the other way.
I started taking off the door panel, but it's kinda hard to do with the door shut. So I stopped before I tweaked it and came here for advice.
