engine light trouble

engine light trouble
my engine light came on in my 98 expo last monthe and the obd said it was an emission problem. So i put the necessary additive in my fuel tank and changed my gas cap and the light went off. Now a month later it is back on for the same reason . Anyone know why i would have the same problem again? Any solutions?

I'm not at all familiar with EEC-V/OBD-2, but I do know that anyone who's going to be able to help hyou is going to want to know the specific code that you got. Most codes that are output are emissions related in some way or another.

Try this, Blockages or Kinks in EVAP can purge outlet between fuel tank or purge valve, fuel cap stuck close,contaminated fuel vapar elbow on EVAP can, Restcicte EVAP can, CV solenoid stuck open or plugged CV solenoid filter, EVAP can purge valve stuck open, VREF ciriuit open (harness near ftp sensor),damaged FTP sensor. Have fun LOL
More input,EVAP- is under rear of vehicle, FTP- monitors pressure level in fuel tank.
