Hi. I own a 2007 Ford Ranger Limited... very cool small truck!
Just before the warranty expired, the Check Engine light turned on! TRAM!
I went to the dealership, and they made a diagnosis. Something like a esporadic and unique mistake in the air-gas mixture turned the check engine light on!. Error deleted, light reseted. Warranty gone!
This was on september 2010.
Every month after that, the light turns ON!. Yep, I have gone to the dealership every month (with the warranty on their last job). Every month, days more, days less, the check engine light turns on. They say it's the same air-gas mixture problem, but they apparently haven't found the cause. they make tests, clean inyectors, one day they found a loose hose. But now after a month... the light its on again. Now, since yesterday, after 1 month and 2 days since last time....
Look on your Dealer paperwork & post All of the trouble code Numbers they have found & recorded, as they can provide good trouble shooting clues for a possible diagnosis.
I will ask for the codes... but I doubt they have them, because they just cancel my order and the whole procedure applied is forgotten.
I forgot to say that a couple of times I have noticed that the light turns on when the truck is nearly stopped (eg a ceiling or a pedestrian area) and suddenly I accelerate to regain speed. This is a very common maneuver, but I have noticed this mechanism paying attention when the light turns on.
Your dealer is either deliberately dragging his feet to avoid putting any parts in it at their charge or the tech lacks the knowledge to fix the problem. You need to immediately call Ford Customer service (800 number in your owners manual) and let them know what's going on. The longer this goes on the less your chance that they will pay for( or replace parts for) whatever is causing the problem. I hope you have receipt for that initial service visit before your warranty expired because that is your ace in the hole. Don't loose it. If you want to get an idea of what the problem is the next time the light comes on head to advance or autozone to get the codes read for free and post what you found here.

Look on the paperwork reciept they gave you after their service & the trouble code numbers they found should be listed, along with the trouble shooting proceedure they used & results they got. The code numbers could be 2 -3, or 4 digits long. Post All of the service paper work numbers found, here.
If the check engine light is lit, or your having problems, most autoparts stores in the US will scan the computer for trouble codes at no cost.
If your in Canada & have a Canadian Tire close by, they should be able to scan the computer, but may charge for it.
Read your warranty, in the US, if the Dealer has to keep the vehicle for warranty service, in most cases they are required to supply transport for the customer. Otherwise they'll often have rental cars available at a discount, at least my Ford dealer does.
